The Wroclaw University of Economics was founded in 1947 as a private higher education institution.

The Wroclaw University of Economics was founded in 1947 as a private higher education institution.

The mission of the University is to be a leading centre of creative thought and economic education in our region of Europe. WUE consists of four Faculties:

  • the Faculty of Economic Sciences,
  • the Faculty of Management, Computer Science and Finance,
  • the Faculty of Economics, Management and Tourism,
  • the Faculty of Engineering and Economics.

The university offers quality programmes in 9 majors, including Business Analytics, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Business Informatics, Logistics, International Economic Relations, Tourism, Management, as well as Management and Production Engineering, and nearly 100 specialisations. Beside teaching activities, the University and its staff are involved in diverse scientific domestic and international projects and events and creates partnerships in order to disseminate innovative knowledge. Moreover, the University closely cooperates with local and national governments, and well as builds good relations with SMEs and multinational corporations. Contacts with businesses include a wide range of interests and involve postgraduate training courses, expert opinions, as well as consulting and advisory services.

Cooperation with the business environment includes the following areas:

  • expert advice, opinions, counselling on issues ordered by an organization, including, most of all, commercial companies in the scope of economic and agricultural sciences,
  • applied scientific research realized with the use of external sources, conducted in cooperation with commercial companies,
  • providing scientific and economic information to the organizations,
  • training for external employees of the organization,
  • training run by economic practitioners, from different organizations, for the University staff and, especially, students,
  • internships, practices, and training for students and potential employees run together with companies,
  • cooperation of students’ scientific associations and students organizations with business entities.
